Fruit tree specialists in Bradford & Leeds

We make fruit growing easy.

Fruit Works Co-operative is a social enterprise helping communities in Bradford and Leeds to plant and maintain fruit trees. Our mission is to enable more people to grow their own fruit as a step towards building resilient local food systems.

Planting. Pruning. Propagating.

We provide a range of services based around the seasonal cycles of fruit trees. As well as doing this work ourselves, we are committed to sharing our knowledge and providing training to people new to growing fruit.

Why Fruit Trees?

Fruit trees and bushes are an incredibly valuable resource for people and wildlife. Year after year they produce free, nutritious food for us and provide a habitat for many species of birds, mammals and insects.

In the face of climate change and biodiversity loss, planting trees is an effective solution for capturing carbon and restoring habitats. On top of this, we are becoming increasingly disconnected from our food sources. The fruit we buy is often grown using harmful chemical fertilisers and imported from halfway around the world. Planting fruit trees is therefore an important step towards creating resilient local food systems and restoring natural ecosystems in our cities.

“The work you have done with our Year 6 is invaluable and has exceeded our expectations. Hugely successful and I can highly recommend to all schools. Children of all ages get so much out of it. Thank you Fruit Works. Excellent delivery.”
