Restorative Pruning: Restore the Health of Older Fruit Trees

  • Hesketh Lane Wakefield, England, WF3 United Kingdom (map)

Old apple and pear trees need pruning differently to restore them to health and help them fruit plentifully for future decades. We will help you understand the theory and practice of restoring old fruit trees.

What to bring

If you can, please bring along a sharp pair of secateurs, loppers and a pruning saw. Tools will be provided if you don’t have your own. Remember to dress appropriately for the outdoor weather!

You may also want to bring a hot drink in a flask.

Location

Hesketh Lane is off the Dewsbury Road in Tingley and easily accessible by bus. Cars can be parked on the street.

Participants will receive a copy of Chloe Ward's excellent pruning guide "for real people with imperfect trees".
