Formative Pruning: learn How to Prune Young Fruit Trees

  • Chapel Allerton Park Leeds, England, LS7 4QH United Kingdom (map)

It's important to prune fruit trees from young so they develop a good structure and a solid framework of branches.

Come along to this workshop to learn the theory and practical skills required to prune young fruit trees with confidence.

What to bring

If you have them, please bring along a sharp pair of secateurs, loppers, a pruning saw and a pair of rubber grip gardening gloves. If you don't have any of these things, not to worry, we'll provide them.

We recommend bringing a hot drink in a flask as it's likely to be cold weather.

Participants will each receive a copy of Chloe Ward's excellent pruning guide "for real people with imperfect trees".

Location

The orchard is located on the northern side of Chapel Allerton Park and can be accessed from Gledhow Valley Road.
